  I attached this church with my dad "Daniel Mesey" may he rest in peace. I was just a small little girl then and I am happy to say now at age 55 I am still a member of a Catholic church I love with all my heart.

  I use to LOVE this parish. This was my Grandmother's parish and I have so many beautiful memories of this church. Recently my daughter had her first child and named him after my uncle Jude. Our family thought that since he was named after my uncle in memory of both my uncle and grandmother that it would be extra special if we got him baptized in my grandmothers parish.
  So I called to discuss this with them. After getting some information from the Priest he asked me how old my grandson was and I told him when he was born.... (he is 6 months old) at that point this man began judging my daughter as to why she has waited so long to have him baptized. At first I tried to just let it go, and I explained to him that this is her first child, and she is a very busy criminal defense attorney and that she has been somewhat overwhelmed. He said this should have been done sooner and that we are all busy... at this point I replied..."excuse me but aren't you a priest? Who are you to judge? Isn't that something we kind of leave up to God?
  So instead of creating another beautiful memory at the church of St Rose of Lima in DeSoto we will never go back there again and I am sure that both my Grandma and my uncle looked down from Heaven today and said what a shame...
